Printaply is a UK-based, family-run business. They specialise in print finishing supplies. The company operates from its warehouse in Sheffield. They supply adhesives, machinery, and components used across the packaging and stationery industries. Their eCommerce site was running on Magento 1, which was outdated. They wanted to migrate their online store to Magento 2.
The project focused on migrating the platform, refining the site design, and integrating the ERP system to support daily operations.
We migrated the existing Magento 1 installation to Magento 2. The upgrade provided a more secure and stable platform. We migrated all essential data, including customer accounts, product catalogues, and order history.
A new theme was introduced to modernise the site’s appearance and improve usability. The design focused on clarity and straightforward navigation to help customers locate and purchase products more easily.
We integrated Printaply’s ERP system, Exact Online, with the new Magento 2 store via a custom API connector. This automated the movement of product information, orders, and inventory data between the systems. We implemented the Sagepay/Opayo payment gateway.
The new platform was built on Magento with supporting integrations that connect the store to key operational systems.
The improvements centred on strengthening the platform and connecting it with the company’s operational systems.
The project required careful planning to ensure the platform upgrade did not interrupt daily operations.
Printaply’s Magento 1 website was becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. The platform was slower than expected and lacked the flexibility needed to support the business’s growing catalogue. The company also required reliable integration with its ERP system so that stock levels, orders, and product information could remain synchronised between internal systems and the website.
We began by preparing the Magento 2 environment and replicating the existing site structure within a development environment. We migrated the product data and customer records to the new platform. At the same time, we developed a custom API connector to link Magento with the Exact Online ERP system. This allowed the two systems to exchange operational data automatically. A refreshed theme was introduced to improve navigation and product presentation, while the Sagepay/Opayo payment gateway ensured secure transaction processing.
We completed the migration process without interrupting the company’s operations. Printaply now operates on a more stable Magento 2 platform. The ERP integration ensures product and order data remain synchronised between the website and internal systems. We also improved navigation and built a more modern platform foundation.
